The Role
We are seeking a enthusiastic, organised and creative Events & Marketing Officer to develop, coordinate and deliver a diverse programme of events and activities throughout the year. This is a varied and hands-on role within a small community charity. Alongside planning and promoting events, the successful candidate will be actively involved in practical delivery, including setting up and dismantling event infrastructure, liaising with suppliers and ensuring events run smoothly on the day.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a proven track record in events, strong communication and marketing skills, and a passion for community engagement. The successful candidate will play a key role in generating income, increasing community participation, and supporting the growth of Jubilee Park's charitable impact.
Key Responsibilities
Events
· Develop, plan and deliver a programme of events and activities.
· Manage all aspects of event delivery from concept through to evaluation.
· Coordinate event logistics including venues, suppliers, equipment, volunteers and staffing.
· Ensure events are delivered safely, within budget and in accordance with relevant regulations.
· Monitor event performance and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
· Be willing to work outdoors and undertake physical tasks associated with event delivery.
· Build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, supporters and local businesses.
· Monitor event performance against targets and prepare regular reports.
· Identify and pursue new events opportunities
Marketing and Communications
· Lead the promotion of events and activities through a range of communication channels.
· Create engaging content for social media, website, newsletters, press releases and promotional materials.
· Develop marketing campaigns to increase attendance, participation and fundraising income.
· Act as an ambassador for Jubilee Park and represent the charity within the community.
· Identify and develop key stakeholders relationships
· Promote and recruit volunteers involved in events and activities.
Administration and Reporting
· Manage event and fundraising budgets.
· Maintain accurate records
· Produce reports on event outcomes
· Ensure compliance with relevant charity, fundraising and health and safety and legal requirements
Person Specification
Essential
· Proven track record of leading successful income generating events.
· Experience of planning and delivering events from concept to completion.
· Excellent marketing and communications skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Highly organised with strong project management abilities.
· Numerate with experience managing budgets and financial reporting.
· Ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
· Competent user of Microsoft Office and digital communication platforms.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
· Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
Desirable
· Experience working within the charity or not-for-profit sector.
· Knowledge of grant funding and sponsorship development.
· Experience using websites and CRM databases
· Understanding of social media advertising and digital marketing.
