Job Description
The Sands Care Home has an exciting opportunity for an Activity Support and Development Co-ordinator.
The ideal candidate will plan and participate in a range of activities with residents within the home, enhancing quality of life of those in our care in line with individualised social and recreational needs identified in the care planning process.
Key duties will include:-
· Planning and delivery of meaningful resident activities utilising community links and volunteers.
· To work with the care teams at the home to coordinate activities and events for the residents.
· Create and publish monthly activity plans, working a month ahead of time
The ideal candidate will:-
· Have a supportive and approachable listening style
· Be flexible and adaptable, according to the needs and preferences of the residents
· Be innovative, enthusiastic and creative
· Be a “people person” who enjoys working with others
. Be willing to establish links with community groups and build a team of volunteers to support activities within the home.
· Have experience of working within the care setting
This is a position working 16-24 hours per week, some flexibility will be required at weekends dependent on events.
You must be able to provide all ID documents as you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for an enhanced disclosure.
