Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Tandoor Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing authentic tandoori dishes, supervising kitchen operations, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of traditional tandoori dishes with precision and consistency
- Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety standards
- Manage food production processes, including marinating, seasoning, and grilling meats and vegetables in the tandoor oven
- Oversee food presentation to ensure visual appeal and quality standards are met
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations
- Assist in menu development by suggesting new recipes and innovative cooking techniques
- Train junior kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking methods, and safety procedures
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and place orders as necessary to ensure smooth operations
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment, preferably specialising in Indian cuisine or tandoori cooking
- Minimum 5 years of experience required.
- Extensive experience in food production, including preparation of various grilled and baked dishes using a tandoor oven
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead a diverse culinary team effectively
- Demonstrable expertise in food safety standards, hygiene practices, and kitchen sanitation protocols
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience with a focus on culinary excellence and customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of food presentation, serving techniques, and maintaining high standards of quality throughout service periods
