FOLK is a local, independently owned suburban staple on Burton Road in West Didsbury specialising in brunch, freshly made sandwiches, stunning salads and infamous burgers. Our menu is always evolving, bringing fresh ideas and flavours that keep things exciting for our guests and our staff.
We are looking for a Sous Chef (or an experienced Junior Sous) to join our established kitchen team. This would be a great opportunity for someone who has been working as a Junior Sous for a couple of years and is looking for the next step, or someone who has worked as a Sous Chef for at least 1 year.
Key responsibilities for this role will include but aren’t limited to:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed diligently
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for daily service
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace at all times
- Collaborate with kitchen team to ensure timely meal delivery during service hours
- Monitor inventory levels of kitchen supplies and report shortages as needed
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Junior Sous / Sous Chef in a restaurant setting, strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques, an ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment under pressure, excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration and basic understanding of kitchen equipment and tools. Own knives and chef whites are essential.
