Field Service Engineer
Location: Greater Belfast Area
Salary: £40,000
Hours: Full-Time | Monday-Friday + Rotational Saturday Mornings
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a leading equipment and machinery provider.
This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working independently. You'll be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a range of heavy plant and specialist equipment, ensuring customers receive a reliable and responsive service.
The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will carry out planned maintenance, inspections, fault diagnosis, and repairs both on customer sites and within the workshop when required.
Working across a wide variety of equipment, you'll utilise your mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic expertise to minimise downtime and ensure machinery is operating safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities

Service, maintain, and repair heavy plant and equipment

Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults

Carry out preventative maintenance and inspections

Attend customer sites to respond to breakdowns and service requirements

Provide technical advice and support to customers

Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately

Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard

Support workshop activities when required

Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at all times
The Person
Applicants should possess:

Previous experience repairing plant, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, HGVs, materials handling equipment, powered access equipment, or similar

Strong mechanical fault-finding skills

Knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, and diesel-powered equipment

Ability to diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability

Good communication and customer service skills
-
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

Full UK driving licence
