A primary school in Maryport is seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide individual support to a Year 5 pupil. This is a full-time, long-term role starting as soon as possible and continuing until the end of the summer term.
This rewarding opportunity would suit a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and helping them achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
The Role:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil throughout the school day
- Support the pupil's learning across the Key Stage 2 curriculum
- Assist with implementing individual learning strategies and interventions
- Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence in learning
- Support the pupil's social, emotional, and academic development
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school team
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Follow safeguarding, behaviour, and health and safety procedures at all times
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in a 1:1 support role
- Experience supporting children within a primary school setting
- Relevant Teaching Assistant or childcare qualifications are desirable
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS certificate (Update Service or willingness to apply)
- Full and up-to-date CV
- Ability to provide details of two professional references, including your most recent employer
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
