We are currently looking for a proactive, motivated and results-driven Customer/Sales Account Mangers to join our Sherborne team. We have two vacancies, one permanent and the second is a maternity cover position. The ideal candidate will play a vital role supporting our Areas Sales Managers, building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external customers and spotting opportunities to drive sales growth. This role requires excellent communication skills and an analytical mindset to effectively manage accounts and deliver exceptional service to our customers.
Account Manager
Duties:
- Supporting Area Sales Managers in a designated geographical area
- Growing spend on all Hunt’s Food Group products and services to customers
- Growing the category share within your specified area
- Growing Hunt’s own brand product market share
- Monitoring and actively increasing cash and percentage margin to maximise profitability alongside implementing mitigating actions for low margin areas
- Assisting new business development in the Food Service, Retail and Natural sectors, based targets specified by the Sales Director and guidance provided by the Transport department
- Priority focus on all year-round key business to enable consistent and manageable business growth
- Increasing percentage of customers ordering via our website and app, alongside offering system guidance and assistance to ensure continued usage
- Actively working with the various departments (Customer Service, Finance, Transport and Warehouse) to ensure maximum customer satisfaction
- Daily monitoring of sales figures and targets
- Monitoring delivery routes to identify issues and opportunities for optimisation
- Working with the Area Sales Managers to monitor and action monthly reporting via Teams
- Talk to customers on the phone as part of your daily role and to support the Customer Service team during busy periods
- Needs to attend and contribute to meetings, end of year conferences, trade shows and customer meetings
- Ability to pass knowledge to others effectively, sharing best practice, ideas and feedback
- Prepare and deliver content for 6-monthly reviews, being open to discussions on area performance and future plans
- Strong IT skills using a variety of systems, including Microsoft 365 software and RepWeb
- Any other tasks as reasonably requested by the business
Person Specification:
- Previous, demonstrable, experience in a customer service or sales role/similar role
- Proven ability to learn quickly and implement learnings efficiently
- Proven ability in taking the initiative to improve service
- Must have the curiosity to ask questions to learn, improve and maximise performance of yourself and your accounts
- Must be comfortable taking full accountability for accounts and actions taken
- Working collaboratively with key stakeholders around the business, both in and out of the Sherborne office
- Ability to think and look at the bigger picture, not just the immediate activities and issues at hand
- Strong ability to weigh the needs of the customer with the needs of the business
- Strong organisational, time-management and prioritisation abilities
- Needs to be approachable, enthusiastic and professional always
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced role in a busy environment
- Valid UK driving licence

Hours and Location:
- Sherborne based
- 42.5 hours per week
- Monday - Friday -08:00 – 17:00
