Rocketeers Childcare is looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and child‑centred Senior Playworker to help deliver exceptional before and after‑school experiences - and to step up confidently to support the site Manager and/or Deputy Manager.

As a Senior Playworker, you’ll support the smooth running of the club, guide Playworkers, and help ensure every child starts and ends their school day with confidence and joy.

The Role
As a Senior Playworker you will:
- Step Up as a Leader - Take responsibility for the club in the absence of the Manager or Deputy Manager.
- Commit to Growth - Undertake relevant training and work within the club’s policies, procedures, and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Support Daily Operations - Assist with the day‑to‑day running of the club, ensuring routines and activities run smoothly.
- Create Inspiring Play Spaces - Set up and pack away equipment, furniture, and resources.
- Maintain High Standards - Prepare refreshments, uphold hygiene, and ensure health and safety requirements are met.
- Champion Children’s Voices - Consult with children and involve them in planning activities.
- Be Flexible - Carry out any reasonable additional duties to support the smooth running of the club.
What We’re Looking For:
About You:
- Experience working with children aged 4–11
- Understanding of the varied needs of children and families
- Understanding of quality play care and equal opportunities
- Ability to provide and facilitate safe, creative play
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to take the lead when needed
- A proactive, can-do mindset
- Sufficient English to ensure children’s wellbeing and effective communication
Bonus Qualities (We’d Love to See!):
- Experience in a play‑based setting
- Additional administration experience
- Competence using IT for play and club administration
- Relevant childcare/playworker qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
- Understanding of EYFS or school-age childcare standards
- Child Protection & Safeguarding Training
- Paediatric First Aid Certificate
- Food Hygiene Certificate

Hours & Working Pattern
28.75 hours per week - Term Time Only Monday to Friday:
- 7:00am – 9:00am (Before School)
- 2:30pm – 6:15pm (After School)
Pay: £13.52 per hour
