The Cue & Darts Lounge is looking for a talented, reliable full time Cook to join our team. We are opening our new venue at Newcastle Quays Retail Park (Royal Quays), North Shields end of July
The Role
As our primary Cook, you’ll be the engine room of the lounge. You’ll be responsible for churning out high-quality "elevated pub grub"—from crispy wings and loaded nachos to our signature burgers that keep the locals coming back. As we will also have a cafe, we will be looking to turn out high quality cafe light bites such as sandwiches and paninis along with afternoon teas with scones and sweet treats.
The role won't be 100% in the kitchen, it will be a mix of getting to know our customers and serving on the counter
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute the Menu: Prepare and cook orders quickly without sacrificing quality.
- Maintain the Station: Keep a clean, organised, and sanitary kitchen (we take hygiene seriously).
- Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels and let us know when we’re running low on the essentials.
- Consistency: Ensure every plate that leaves the window looks and tastes like a winner.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: At least 2 years in a fast-paced kitchen (pub, lounge, cafe and deli experience is a plus!) with Foody Hygience Level 2
- Cool Under Pressure: You can handle a "Saturday night rush" without breaking a sweat.
- Team Player: You work well with the front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
- Reliability: You show up on time and ready to cook.
- Passion: You actually care about the food you serve.

Pay: £12.21-£13.50 per hour
