9:00am – 5:30pm | 5 days per week
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team in a therapeutic children’s home in Milton Keynes, supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
This is a hands-on leadership role in an active day service, working closely with the Registered Manager to ensure exceptional standards of care, safeguarding, and therapeutic support are consistently delivered.
We are specifically looking for experienced applicants from residential childcare, youth work, supported living, or complex needs settings who are ready to step into a leadership role and make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support the care team across daily operations
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures are consistently followed
- Carry out regular welfare checks and track young people’s progress
- Coach, mentor, and develop staff through supervision and on-the-job guidance
- Maintain accurate, timely recording of reports, incidents, and safeguarding concerns
- Respond confidently and calmly to incidents and emergencies
- Work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure smooth service delivery and continuity of care
- Contribute to staff supervisions, appraisals, team meetings, and service development
- Promote a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for young people
About You
- Experienced in residential childcare or similar settings
- Calm, resilient, and able to remain composed under pressure
- A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
- Confident supervising staff and leading shifts independently
- Knowledgeable in safeguarding, child protection, and care planning
- Passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
- Committed to high standards of care and professional practice
