Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant – Pantry Edinburgh
Pantry Edinburgh is looking for a hard-working, reliable and dedicated Kitchen Porter/assistant to join our team. This is an important behind-the-scenes role, helping to keep the kitchen running smoothly, cleanly and efficiently. We have an amazing team and great hourly wage with tronc.
The main focus of the role will be dishwashing, cleaning, organisation and general kitchen housekeeping. During quieter times, or when the kitchen needs extra support, you may also help with basic kitchen assistant tasks such as simple food preparation and assisting the chefs. We are looking for a minimum of 1 year experience working in a kitchen.
Main responsibilities include:
- Washing pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment.
- Operating the dishwasher safely and correctly.
- Keeping the dishwash area clean, organised and under control at all times.
- Helping to keep the kitchen clean, tidy and safe throughout the day.
- Emptying bins and keeping floors clear of debris.
- Putting equipment away correctly.
- Supporting the kitchen team with basic preparation tasks when required, such as vegetable prep and simple kitchen jobs.
- Following instructions from the Head Chef and wider kitchen team.
- Helping the kitchen deliver a smooth and high-quality service, especially during busy periods.
