Credit Controller (Part-Time)

We're looking for an experienced and proactive Credit Controller to join our growing SME. This is a hands-on role where you'll take ownership of the credit control function, helping to maintain healthy cash flow while building positive relationships with our customers.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in reducing aged debt, and wants the flexibility of part-time hours.
The Role
As our Credit Controller, you'll be responsible for managing the sales ledger and ensuring customers pay on time. You'll work closely with our Managing Director and playing a key role in protecting the company's cash flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the company's credit control process.
- Chase outstanding invoices by telephone and email in a professional manner.
- Build strong working relationships with customers to encourage prompt payment.
- Resolve payment queries quickly by liaising with customers.
- Allocate customer payments and reconcile accounts.
- Monitor and reduce aged debt, producing regular debtor reports.
- Negotiate payment plans where appropriate.
- Escalate overdue accounts when necessary.
- Review customer credit limits and identify potential risks.
- Suggest and implement improvements to credit control procedures.
About You
You'll have:
- Previous experience in Credit Control or Accounts Receivable.
- A proven track record of reducing aged debt and improving cash collection.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- A confident but professional telephone manner.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Xero accounting package
- The ability to work independently, manage your own workload, and take ownership of the role.
