At Bridgwater College Academy, we believe that exceptional teaching changes everything. We’re looking for an inspiring and ambitious Performing Arts Teacher to lead and deliver high-quality Performing Arts provision across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the performing arts and creative expression and will be committed to nurturing a love of performance, encouraging confidence, collaboration, and independent thought. You will demonstrate the power of a dynamic Performing Arts curriculum to help students develop confidence, creativity, and communication skills, enabling them to engage fully with the world around them. Through engaging and inclusive lessons, you will equip students with the practical, technical, and expressive skills that will empower them for life.
You will contribute to a strong and supportive department, delivering high standards of teaching and learning, and supporting colleagues. You will play an active role in the wider life and creative culture of the school, including the highly successful catalogue of extra-curricular activities run by the department which are attended well by students across the academy.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who has:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- The ability to lead and deliver high-quality Performing Arts lessons in line with the school’s curriculum
- The vision, energy, creativity, and resilience to inspire students and colleagues
- A team-oriented mindset, with a willingness to lead, support, and develop a supportive and dynamic department
- A belief that every child can succeed, and that great teaching and leadership make it possible
We welcome applications from qualified teachers who have successfully completed their statutory induction period. Unfortunately, we are not currently able to support ECT induction for this post.
