Job Overview
Botanico is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef / Kitchen Manager to lead our busy kitchen operation in the heart of Woolton Village. Botanico is a vibrant all-day dining venue offering breakfast, brunch, wood-fired pizza, bakery items and an evening bistro menu with strong Italian influence.
The successful candidate will have strong experience in brunch, breakfast and bistro-style service, with the ability to lead a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining high food quality and consistency. Experience within an Italian restaurant or Italian-inspired kitchen is highly desirable, and speaking Italian would be an added advantage.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring creativity, organisation, excellent kitchen management and the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Full Time: 48 hours per week
- Pay: £16.80 – £18.00 per hour
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all kitchen operations across breakfast, brunch, lunch and evening bistro service
- Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene
- Oversee menu preparation including brunch dishes, breakfast specials, pizzas, pasta and Italian-inspired bistro dishes
- Manage kitchen staff schedules, training and day-to-day performance
- Ensure smooth service during busy periods while maintaining excellent standards
- Monitor stock levels, ordering, food costs and waste control
- Ensure full compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations
- Work closely with management on menu development, seasonal specials and kitchen improvements
- Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment
- Support a positive team culture and professional working environment
Experience
- Proven experience as a Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager
- Strong background in brunch, breakfast and bistro-style kitchens
- Experience in Italian cuisine or Italian restaurants preferred
- Confident managing high-volume service
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Good understanding of stock control, GP margins and kitchen operations
- Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for fresh food, presentation and customer experience
- Italian language skills would be a bonus, but are not essential
Pay: £42,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
