Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef by overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a diverse range of dishes, maintaining consistency and quality.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
- Manage food production processes, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
- Oversee food safety procedures, including hygiene practices and storage protocols.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock ordering to minimise waste.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations.
- Contribute to menu development alongside the Head Chef, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative ideas.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong supervising experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations.
- Experience in food presentation and restaurant service operations.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
