This is a unique opportunity to help shape and develop a brand new service!
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated Band 5 to join our newly established Ambulatory Care Unit, delivering Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) and specialist cancer care to patients on the Oncology, Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) ambulatory pathway.
This innovative service has been designed to meet the needs of the patients, providing treatment and supportive care as well as specialist reviews, in an ambulatory setting that enables patients to receive high quality care, whilst maintaining as much normality in their daily lives as possible.
Operating 7 days a week from 08:00 - 20:00, this new unit will play a pivotal role in transforming cancer services within BHOC by providing timely treatment, reducing unnecessary hospital admissions and improving patient experience.
Deliver SACT administration for Oncology, Haematology and BMT patients.
Have a good understanding of Mosaiq booking system and how to book patients in efficiently.
Work closely with senior staff nurses, supervisory sister, AP, medical, pharmacy and AHP teams to provide seamless patient centred care.
Support and escalate patients who might arrive to the Ambulatory Care unit unwell, or become unwell during their ambulatory visit.
Liaise with pathway navigator regarding inpatient bed requirements.
