Legal Support Assistant – Family Department, Exeter, Full-time or part-time
We are seeking a bright, kind, and organised person to join our Family Department. You will join a team of support staff who work together to provide assistance to the department’s lawyers across our three offices. You will work in the firm’s office in Exeter.

Our Legal Support Assistants play a vital role in ensuring we can continue to deliver great service to our clients.
It is therefore essential that you possess excellent technical skills, are professional in your approach to work, adaptable and determined to support your team to succeed.
Previous experience and an interest in Family work would be a distinct advantage, although it is not essential as full training will be provided. However, we expect applicants to be able to demonstrate that they can:
- display excellent client care and be confident speaking with clients and contacts on the telephone
- display empathy
- type at a reasonable speed (50-60 word per minute) with accuracy both independently and using audio-dictation
- to be able to use a computer and the main software packages confidently
- be thorough and pay attention to detail
- work well with others
- be patient and remain calm in stressful situations
- use initiative but also take direction and work to deadlines
This varied role requires a degree of flexibility as you will need to be able to react to the needs of the lawyers and the clients as they arise.
