We are currently seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our kitchen team and contribute to our culinary excellence.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a passionate Sous Chef to assist our Head Chef in leading our kitchen team. As a Sous Chef at Santon Bridge Inn, you will have the opportunity to showcase your creativity and culinary skills while working with the finest ingredients the Lake District has to offer. This is a full-time position with the option of Live In accommodation for those who require it (live in is a single, en suite room above the pub).
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food preparation.
- Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations to ensure high standards of quality and consistency.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
- Must have busy pub experience and be capable of working alone on quieter days.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or senior role in a similar kitchen environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Capable of working alone on quieter days
