About the Role
We are currently recruiting experienced Forklift Warehouse Operatives to join a busy cargo operation. This role combines forklift truck operation with warehouse duties and requires candidates to be flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Successful candidates will be responsible for handling cargo safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload vehicles carrying various cargo using forklift trucks and other mechanical handling equipment.
- Carry out manual handling duties, including moving, lifting, and sorting freight.
- Build and break down pallets as required.
- Prepare, secure, and palletise cargo for transportation.
- Use hand-held scanning devices to locate, track, and identify cargo.
- Complete and process operational paperwork accurately.
- Handle special cargo products in accordance with company procedures.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and cargo handling procedures.
- Support general warehouse operations when forklift duties are not required.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous Forklift Truck (FLT) experience is essential.
- Must be willing to undertake and pass a forklift assessment conducted by the client's FLT trainer.
- Flexible to work a mixture of early, late, and night shifts.
- Comfortable performing both forklift and manual warehouse duties.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively within a team.
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow operational procedures.
