Cake Agency | Shopify Partner is looking for a Senior Digital Designer to join a growing agency team.
This role is perfect for an experienced design professional with a strong agency background, ready to take full ownership of large-scale website design projects and help shape design standards across the agency.
You’ll work closely with strategists, developers, marketers, and the Head of UX across a variety of ambitious UK ecommerce brands. You’ll combine strong visual design skills with a deep understanding of UX, ecommerce, and conversion-focused design to create experiences that not only look exceptional but deliver measurable results.
We’re looking for someone who is highly organised, confident in client-facing situations, comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously, and passionate about mentoring junior talent while continually evolving their own craft.

These are the skills we’re looking for in a Senior Digital Designer:
- 5+ years’ experience within a creative, digital, or ecommerce agency environment
- A strong portfolio demonstrating ecommerce, UX, UI, and conversion-focused design work
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, design tokens, Auto Layout, interactive prototyping, and scalable workflows
- Strong understanding of UX principles, information architecture, accessibility standards, and responsive design
- Experience leading large website redesign or migration projects with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience presenting work directly to clients and facilitating workshops or discovery sessions
- Confidence defending design decisions using research, analytics, UX best practice, and commercial reasoning
- Experience using behavioural analytics and UX research tools such as Hotjar and Microsoft Clarity
- Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
- Passion for mentoring others and contributing to the growth of a design team
Bonus Points
- Experience working within Shopify or other ecommerce platforms
- Understanding of CRO methodologies, A/B testing, and experimentation frameworks
- Experience working closely with development teams and agile delivery processes
- Motion design or animation skills
- Experience contributing to brand systems and visual identity projects
- Familiarity with GA4 and ecommerce performance reporting
As a Senior Digital Designer, you’ll be:
- Taking full ownership of large-scale website migration and redesign projects from discovery through to delivery
- Leading client immersion sessions, workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirements gathering activities
- Presenting design concepts confidently to clients and managing feedback effectively using UX data and evidence
- Utilising behavioral analytics platforms to identify UX opportunities, contribute to audits, wireframing, and prototype development
- Supporting the Head of UX in mentoring, developing, and providing constructive feedback to mid-weight and junior designers
- Owning and contributing to scalable design systems, component libraries, and Figma workflows
- Collaborating closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs and maintain design integrity
- Proactively managing workloads, priorities, and communicating risks or blockers early to the Traffic Manager
