Overview
Apex Events & Exhibitions have been providing innovative exhibition stands UK wide and globally for over 35 years. During a period of significant growth we are seeking additional and ideally experienced, skilled Exhibition Installers / Technicians to join our dynamic team.
The Exhibition Installer / Technician is responsible for the preparation, construction, installation and dismantling of exhibition stands across the UK and Europe.
This is a practical, hands-on role requiring strong trade skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively as part of a team within fast-paced exhibition environments.
The role involves warehouse preparation, vehicle loading, stand pre-builds, onsite installation and client-facing delivery. Employees are expected to represent the business professionally, maintain high build standards and contribute positively to the wider operations team.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Exhibition Stand Installation & Build
- Install and dismantle modular and bespoke exhibition stands to a high standard.
- Read and interpret stand visuals, layouts and technical drawings.
- Carry out practical build tasks including:
- Carpentry and joinery adjustments
- Graphics fitting
- Flooring installation
- Furniture and AV setup
- Lighting installation support
- Ensure all stands are clean, presentable and client-ready.
- Troubleshoot onsite build issues calmly and practically.
- Work safely within exhibition halls and follow venue regulations.
- Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, venue teams and suppliers onsite.
- Support stand handovers and ensure projects are completed within agreed timescales.
Warehouse & Stand Preparation
- Prepare exhibition stand components and materials prior to dispatch.
- Carry out stand pre-builds and quality checks.
- Load and unload company vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate stock control and stand component organisation.
- Assist with maintenance, cleaning and repair of exhibition equipment and assets.
- Ensure warehouse areas remain clean, organised and safe at all times.
- Assist with goods in/out, deliveries and collections from suppliers or venues.
- Support management of graphics, marketing materials and hire equipment.
Transport & Logistics
- Drive company vans and vehicles to exhibitions, venues and supplier locations.
- Ensure vehicles are loaded correctly, securely and efficiently.
- Support logistics planning and onsite unloading/loading schedules.
- Assist with collection and return of materials, graphics and hire equipment.
- Complete vehicle checks and report any issues promptly.

- Ability to think quickly and respond positively to onsite challenges.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience within exhibition stands, events, staging, shopfitting, fit-out, joinery or similar installation environments preferred.
- Experience with modular exhibition systems such as beMatrix, Aluvision, Unibox or similar desirable.
- Previous warehouse or logistics experience beneficial.
- Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office desirable.
- Written and spoken English and basic Maths skills required.
- Forklift licence beneficial but not essential.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Full clean UK driving licence essential.
- Flexibility to work outside normal office hours, including early starts, late finishes and overnight stays where required.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and occasionally overseas.
- This role involves manual handling, lifting, working at height and working within live exhibition environments.
- Employees are expected to follow all company Health & Safety procedures and venue regulations at all times.
SUPERVISORY LEVEL
Employees are responsible for managing their own workload and are expected to work under their own initiative, as well as collaboratively within the wider operations team, with limited day-to-day supervision.
Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
