Band 5 Radiographer - CT (Targeted Lung Health Check)
We are recruiting a Band 5 Radiographer to join our CT team delivering low-dose CT as part of the Targeted Lung Health Check (TLHC) programme. This patient-facing role supports a safe, efficient and compassionate CT screening service. The patient cohort are people who may feel anxious about attending, the scan or possible outcomes.
The post holder will be based primarily within the TLHC low-dose CT service across two sites, including sessions at Finchley Memorial Hospital. You will undertake TLHC examinations to agreed protocols, maintaining diagnostic image quality, radiation dose optimisation, patient safety, privacy and dignity.
The role may include non-contrast CT duties across UCLH CT services and satellite sites, according to service need, local entitlement and competency. This Band 5 post does not include contrast-enhanced CT examinations, IV cannulation or IV contrast administration.
You will be supported to develop CT skills while contributing to the teaching and day-to-day support of student radiographers and Band 4 Assistant Practitioners (APs). The department actively supports CPD and progression within a supportive CT service.
The role is worked over four 10 hour duties per week with an associated non working day in week. There is no out-of-hours commitment associated with this post.
Undertake TLHC low-dose CT examinations to a high diagnostic standard, ensuring patient safety, dignity and a positive experience.
Assess and justify referrals within local entitlement in line with IR(ME)R 2017, local protocols and radiographic regulations; escalate complex or non-standard cases appropriately.

Support day-to-day coordination of the patient pathway, prioritising workload to maintain efficiency and service quality.
Liaise effectively with the multidisciplinary team to resolve issues, improve flow and contribute to continuous service improvement.
Participate in any rotational CT sessions within competency, undertaking non-contrast CT duties only and escalating contrast-enhanced CT, IV cannulation or IV contrast administration requirements to appropriately trained senior staff.
Contribute to teaching, supervision and day-to-day support of student radiographers and Band 4 Assistant Practitioners (APs) within scope of practice.
Maintain accurate records on relevant systems (e.g. RIS/PACS), ensuring timely documentation and data quality.
Participate in governance activities such as audit, QA and incident reporting.
