You will support patients with personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration, and daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing at all times. You will also contribute to monitoring and recording routine patient information and promptly report any changes in a patient's condition. The role requires compassion, resilience, and professionalism. You may occasionally support patients and families experiencing distressing, life-changing, or life-limiting circumstances and will be expected to respond with empathy, understanding, and respect. As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will be a valued member of the multidisciplinary team, delivering compassionate, person-centred care that promotes patients' dignity, wellbeing, and independence. You will support patients with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, toileting, continence care, mobility, and maintaining personal appearance, always treating patients with kindness, respect, and sensitivity.
You will assist with patients' nutrition and hydration needs, monitor and record intake where required, and update care records accurately in line with Trust policies. Using equipment such as hoists and wheelchairs, you will help patients move safely while encouraging independence wherever possible.
Working closely with patients, families, carers, and colleagues, you will build positive relationships and contribute to coordinated, high-quality care. You will observe and report changes in patients' condition or wellbeing and escalate concerns promptly to registered professionals.
