The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Work closely with class teachers, the SENDCo, and external agencies to implement tailored support strategies.
- Deliver targeted interventions to support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
- Monitor progress and contribute to the assessment and review of support plans.
- Promote an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.

- Has experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably within a primary school setting.
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children to succeed.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
- Is flexible, proactive, and able to respond to the changing needs of children.
- Understands the importance of inclusive education and high expectations for all learners.
- Holds relevant SEND qualifications or training (desirable but not essential).

Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: Scale 3–4 (or equivalent), dependent on experience and qualifications.
