Galtres Lodge & Forest Restaurant is looking for an experienced Kitchen porter to join our kitchen team.
This is a part-time position for around 30-35 hours per week. There is a mix of daytime shifts and evening shifts, shifts are scheduled on a rota on a weekly basis. Shifts may vary depending on the needs of the business and we ask all employees to be flexible with their time.
The purpose of this role is to help maintain high levels of service and assist with the smooth running of the kitchen by cleaning all kitchenware to the required standard and carrying out any cleaning duties. You will also assist with preparation of starters and pudding. The ultimate goal of all Galtres Lodge employees is to support the delivery of an excellent customer experience.
Main duties and responsibilities
· Washing up pots and pans, and operating the dishwasher.
· Cleaning the kitchen.
· Ensure that all equipment is put away correctly.
· Possibly basic food preparation tasks.
· Unloading and putting away stock correctly.
· Keeping the kitchen clean.
· Emptying bins.
· Putting bins out for collection on specific days.
· Sweeping and mopping floors.
· Use chemicals as trained.
· Keep stores areas neat and tidy.
· Observe the rules and procedures and carry out any reasonable request made by their Manager, Supervisor or the Duty Manager.
· Work safely around the kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues to the Head Chef.
· Be aware of your responsibilities in respect of Health and Safety at Work and they follow all procedures in this respect and report to management any hazardous situation or accident.
· Attend training sessions and team meetings as required and to be involved and contribute to these.
Pay: Up to £13.50 per hour
