Overview
We are seeking a proactive and responsible Traffic Marshall to oversee the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and personnel within our site. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a good understanding of management and maintenance procedures, and the ability to operate vehicles when necessary. This role is essential in maintaining safety standards and ensuring smooth operations across the site.
Responsibilities
- Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic to prevent congestion and ensure safety at all times
- Manage access points, verifying credentials and issuing permits as required
- Maintain clear signage and communication channels to facilitate smooth flow of traffic
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on traffic control equipment and report any issues promptly
- Assist with site management duties, including organising vehicle movements during busy periods
- Operate vehicles such as lorries or forklifts when authorised, adhering to safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and visitors to coordinate activities efficiently
- Enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance across the site
Qualifications
- Proven experience in management or supervisory roles within a construction or industrial environment is desirable
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures related to traffic control equipment and site infrastructure
- Valid driving licence with experience operating relevant vehicles (e.g., lorries, forklifts) preferred
- Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with diverse teams and visitors
- Ability to stay organised under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong awareness of health and safety regulations relevant to traffic management roles
