Job Overview
Aspen Lodge are looking for a compassionate, dedicated care assistant to join our team. The position will be for 30 hours per week but there will be the opportunity to pick up extra shifts. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, be flexible with hours of work and have a genuine desire to work within a team to make life better for our residents.
Previous experience in the care sector would be an advantage but full training can be given to the right candidate. Unfortunately, at this time, we are NOT able to offer sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with all aspects of personal care.
- Support individuals with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Implement and follow care plans tailored to each resident's needs, maintaining accurate records of their progress.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other team members to provide updates on care and any concerns.
- Engage residents in social activities and promote their independence through meaningful interactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the care home environment.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care or a care home setting is preferred but not essential as training will be given.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
- A compassionate nature with a commitment to providing excellent care.
- Flexibility to work various shifts to suit the needs of the home.
