The Role
As a Technical Project Manager, you'll take ownership of projects from initial brief through to successful delivery.
This is far more than project coordination. You'll work directly with clients to understand their objectives, develop creative and technical solutions with our wider team, manage budgets and resources, and lead onsite delivery to ensure every project exceeds expectations.
You'll act as the vital link between clients, suppliers and technical teams, combining strong technical knowledge with excellent commercial awareness and leadership skills.
Whether delivering a corporate conference, immersive experience, product launch or live event, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standard.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a technically strong project leader with a genuine passion for live events and production technology.
You will have deep expertise in at least one core technical discipline:
Alongside a broad working knowledge of the wider technical production landscape.
You will be comfortable managing multiple stakeholders, balancing creative ambitions with commercial realities, and making informed decisions under pressure.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing technical production projects within the live events industry
- Strong technical expertise in lighting, audio or video systems
- Experience creating technical specifications, equipment schedules and project documentation
- Ability to interpret client briefs and develop practical technical solutions
- Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and quotations
- Excellent client-facing communication skills
- Experience coordinating technical teams and onsite crews
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements within live events
Desirable
- AutoCAD experience
- Rental management software experience
- Experience across multiple technical disciplines
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Access to a vehicle

Project Delivery
- Manage projects from concept through to completion
- Develop technical solutions that meet creative, operational and commercial objectives
- Produce accurate quotations, specifications and technical documentation
- Manage project budgets, schedules and logistics
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably
Technical Leadership
- Lead and coordinate technical teams across multiple projects
- Oversee onsite installation, operation and derig activities
- Ensure technical standards are maintained throughout delivery
- Support problem-solving and decision-making under pressure
- Drive continuous improvement and best practice across projects
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with internal departments to deliver seamless project outcomes
- Share technical knowledge and support the development of colleagues
- Contribute positively to team culture and company growth

Role Details
Reports To: Head of Projects
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. As live events operate outside standard business hours, flexibility will be required during project delivery periods.
Location: Borehamwood, Hertfordshire (approximately 25 minutes from Central London)
Hybrid Working: Following successful completion of six months' service, employees can work two days remotely and three days from the office each week.
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
Holiday: 30 days including Bank Holidays
