Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teacher to join our educational team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering tailored learning programmes to children with diverse needs, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes academic, social, and behavioural development. The SEN Teacher will collaborate closely with parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure personalised learning experiences that maximise each child's potential.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement customised lesson plans that cater to individual learning needs, incorporating areas such as speech therapy, maths, physical education, and early childhood development.
- Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons across various subjects, ensuring accessibility for children with special educational needs.
- Employ behaviour management techniques to create a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and social interaction.
- Assess and monitor student progress through regular observations, assessments, and documentation; adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and other specialists to support holistic student development.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to pupils, fostering confidence and independence through personalised support programmes.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievements and prepare reports for parents and external agencies.
- Support children with childcare duties as needed, including toddler care and preschool activities.
- Proofread educational materials and resources to ensure clarity and appropriateness for learners’ age groups.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in special education, applied behaviour analysis (ABA), tutoring techniques, and other relevant areas.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, particularly within special education environments.
- Knowledge of speech therapy techniques and their application within classroom settings.
- Familiarity with applied behaviour analysis (ABA), behaviour management strategies, and inclusive teaching methodologies.
- Experience delivering early childhood education programmes for toddlers and preschool-aged children.
- Strong communication skills essential for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, parents, carers, and pupils.
- Previous mentoring or tutoring experience is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to develop engaging lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.

Pay: £40,000.00-£64,000.00 per year
