Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Funeral Arranger/Administrator to join our dedicated team. Working as a job share (Tuesday and Thursday (9.00am - 5.00pm) but flexible to work out of hours if needed) in our Lakenheath office, plus holiday/sickness cover in Brandon/Lakenheath/Thetford offices (which could be full weeks when required) . This role involves coordinating funeral services with sensitivity and professionalism, ensuring that families receive respectful support during difficult times. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing administrative tasks, liaising with clients, and assisting with logistical arrangements. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, and a caring demeanour is essential.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and organise funeral services in accordance with families’ wishes and company policies
- Liaise effectively with clients, clergy, and service providers to ensure seamless arrangements
- Manage administrative duties including preparing documentation, maintaining records, and processing paperwork
- Assist families with choosing funeral options
- Provide compassionate support and guidance to bereaved families throughout the planning process
- Handle lifting when required, including movement of coffins to allow families to say goodbye to their loved ones
- Maintain accurate records of all arrangements and correspondence to ensure compliance and confidentiality
- Holiday/sickness cover which will include some full-time weeks (in Brandon/Lakenheath/Thetford offices)
- Out of hours phone cover (rotation)
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a funeral service or administrative role is preferred but not essential
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach towards clients during sensitive times
- Ability to handle lifting safely when necessary
- Discretion and respect for confidentiality are paramount
- Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite
- A valid driving licence for logistical responsibilities

Pay: £13.22-£13.88 per hour
