Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Conventional/CNC Miller to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating and programming milling machines to produce precise components, primarily within a mechanical or engineering environment. Responsibilities
- Set up, programme, and operate both conventional and CNC milling machines to produce specified components.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files using SolidWorks or similar software.
- Perform grinding, welding, and assembly tasks as required to complete projects accurately.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised tooling to carry out machining operations efficiently.
- Conduct routine inspections of machined parts to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Assist with tooling changes, machine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting during production runs.
- Apply basic maths skills for measurements, tolerances, and calculations necessary for machining processes.
Experience
- Proven experience in milling operations, including both conventional and CNC machinery.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks for interpreting technical drawings.
- Knowledge of grinding, welding, plastics injection moulding, and assembly processes is advantageous.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience using hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of tooling selection, setup procedures, and basic machine maintenance.
- Ability to work accurately with minimal supervision while adhering to safety standards.
- Previous exposure to working with plastics or in environments involving injection moulding is desirable but not essential.
