About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on HGV Supervisor (On the Tools) to join our team in Biggleswade. This is a working supervisory role, ideal for a time-served HGV Technician or Level 3 qualified professional who is ready to take the next step in their career while remaining actively involved in workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of HGV Technicians on a day-to-day basis
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs to DVSA standards
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards
- Assist with job allocation, workshop planning, and workflow management
- Support training and development of junior technicians
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate job records and documentation
Requirements
- Time served HGV Technician or Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Proven experience working on HGVs in a workshop environment
- Previous supervisory or team-leading experience desirable
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous)
