Job Overview
A leading main contractor is seeking an experienced Civils Setting Out Engineer to take ownership of groundworks and drainage works for large new build residential sites on the outskirts of Dublin. This is a key role taking full ownership of setting out and site control across a complex, fast‑paced project.
Role Overview
- Lead all setting out activities across the development
- Establish and maintain accurate site control, benchmarks, gridlines & datums
- Interpret drawings, models & specifications to guide construction works
- Work closely with Engineers, Site Managers and subcontractors to maintain programme delivery and resolve issues
- Manage surveying equipment, calibration and best‑practice techniques
- Produce accurate as‑built surveys and maintain QA documentation
Requirements
- Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering or relevant trades background
- 4+ years’ experience in a civils setting out role
- Strong background in drainage, utilities, and residential civils projects
- Experience managing site crews and coordinating works
- Proficient with GPS and Total Station equipment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
Qualifications
- Valid Safe Pass / CSCS Card
- Manual Handling Certificate
- First Aid certification advantageous
- Full clean driving licence
