Job Purpose
To provide a full cleaning and domestic services to the Home promoting high standards of cleanliness and infection control.
Principal Accountabilities and Activities
· To ensure that the home is kept clean and odour free at all times. Following cleaning schedules, documenting, and following infection control and prevention protocols and practices.
· To wear and follow the homes PPE guidance on when to wear, donning and doffing PPE.
· To follow and complete cleaning schedules including deep cleaning, and instructions, signing when these are completed.
· To work in conjunction with care staff to change and sort linen, towels and curtains and undertake linen checks, ensuring bedrooms are well presented.
· To ensure that resident’s rooms and public areas are in very good order, reporting any faults, e.g., defective light bulbs, worn carpets, broken fittings.
· To look after and clean housekeeping equipment and machinery and ensure the economical and correct use of cleaning materials.
· To attend staff meetings and training where appropriate.
· To assist in the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment, be particularly mindful of trailing vacuum leads, leaving any cleaning trollies and items unattended.
· To follow COSHH and health and safety at work regulations.
· Duty to whistle blow if witness bad practice or harm to a resident within the home.
· To be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
· To be understanding of the resident’s needs.
· To work to the code of conduct for social care.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
