Job Title: Field service engineer
Salary: £41,248 - £54,997
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40hrs
We’re currently recruiting for a Forklift mechanic working with a well-established and employee-focused material handling company. Due to their increased workload, they are expanding their team!
As a Forklift Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing servicing, maintenance and repair work on a broad range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment
- Identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues
- Carrying out LOLER inspections to ensure all equipment remains fully compliant
- Completing detailed safety checks and pre-delivery inspections (PDI)
- Responding to breakdowns and conducting reactive maintenance to reduce customer downtime
- Effectively organising and managing your own workload and service schedule
- Accurately filling out service reports, job sheets and all relevant compliance documentation
- Coordinating with parts departments to ensure the correct components are sourced and installed
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as a Forklift engineer / Material handling mechanic / Plant Fitter or similar
- Knowledge and proven experience of diesel engines
- Strong diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload
- A professional, reliable and customer-focused attitude
- Experience with electrics and hydraulics (advantageous)
- Experience or knowledge of LOLER inspections (desirable)
- Technical qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ) (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence
Package:
- Basic Salary: £30,000 - £40,000
- OTE: £35,624 - £47,498 (based on 5hrs overtime)
- OTE: £41,248 - £54,997 (based on 10hrs overtime)
- Overtime paid at 1.5x
