Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Care Home Day Shift Carer to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support and assistance to residents within a care home environment during daytime hours- 0800-1400 and 1400-2130 . This role offers an opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals requiring care, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being are prioritised at all times. The ideal applicant will possess excellent communication skills, be organised, and have a genuine interest in home care services.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support residents in engaging with social activities and maintaining independence where possible
- Follow individual care plans to deliver personalised care tailored to each resident’s needs
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in residents’ conditions
- Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and family members to ensure seamless care delivery
- Ensure the safety and comfort of residents at all times by adhering to health and safety protocols
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Support residents in medication management under supervision
- Maintain a clean and organised environment within the care home
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
- Valid driving licence is preferred to assist with outings or appointments outside the care home
- Good understanding of care plans and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Proficient in basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Compassionate nature with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative when required
