We are looking for an experienced and motivated Gang Foreman to lead our surface treatment teams. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for planning, supervising and delivering high-quality works while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance and performance.
The Role
Reporting to the Contracts/Operations Management team, you will take day-to-day responsibility for managing site activities, coordinating labour, plant and materials, and ensuring works are delivered on time, on budget and to client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise and motivate surface treatment teams on site
- Plan and coordinate works to meet programme and client requirements
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety, environmental and quality standards
- Carry out site inspections, risk assessments and daily HSQE reporting
- Monitor resources, productivity and costs, minimising waste and inefficiencies
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Identify and report issues, implementing solutions proactively
- Support training, development and performance of team members
- Ensure accurate completion of all site records and documentation
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in highways maintenance or construction
- Strong leadership skills with a proactive, hands-on approach
- Solid understanding of health & safety and quality compliance (ISO/HAPAS desirable)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- CSCS / NVQ / NEBOSH / CITB / Lantra qualifications
- Basic IT skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
