Grounds maintenance provides an essential service in ensuring the County delivers
its aspirations of providing an environment which is safe, clean and sustainable.
To form part of the town team and assist in providing enhanced levels of service
within Monmouthshire towns and villages working directly with town clerks. The post
holder will be responsible for completing schedules, daily activities and responsive
works.
Activities undertaken would be but not limited to:
- Manual Street cleaning
- Litter picking – black spots, reactive to requests, complaints etc.
- Daily litter bin emptying (less frequent dependent upon usage)
- Events support (signage, setting out stalls, barriers etc) – requires training.
- Horticultural works including maintenance of newly planted areas, enhanced
activity in all the greenspaces, grass cutting etc.
- Graffiti removal/covering.
- Repairs, cleaning and decoration to street/park furniture and fencing –
benches, bins, bollards, signs etc.
- Operation of pedestrianisation bollards
- Deep clean of the town centre area
- Manual removal of weed growth.
- Cleaning alleyways
- Routine safety inspections
SALARY - IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Salary would be pro rata if not working full time hours or 52 weeks per year.
i.e. 37 hours per week / 32.5 per week for School Teachers

Location: Waste & Street Services (Aber), NP7 9LH, United Kingdom. This may change in the future if the service location needs to relocate. Relocation or disturbance expenses will not be paid if this happens.
