Do you wish to work with a company that truly prioritises providing hands-on therapeutic support to the children in its care? One that also offers you development and progression opportunities?
We are seeking a confident and experienced Children’s Residential Deputy Manager to join and help lead a team in supporting children to thrive in a warm and welcoming environment.
This well-established company currently has two residential homes: One in Reading, rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted, and an exciting new provision in Newbury. The homes provide care for children and young people aged 5-18 who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and require support for their emotional, social, and behavioural needs.
The team within this home utilises therapeutic practices such as PACE and therapeutic parenting, helping these children grow in an environment built on Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy, and supporting them in building essential life skills and developing independence. All of these core values underpin the overall goal of providing children with positive outcomes and new opportunities.
As a Children’s Residential Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining the home’s therapeutic environment while supporting both the children and your staff team. You will lead shifts, provide guidance to colleagues, and deputise for your highly experienced Registered Manager in their absence. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, supporting budgeting, and acting as a positive role model through a calm, child-focused approach. Previous experience within a residential childcare setting and a strong understanding of The Children’s Home Regulations are essential for this role.
