Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood, metal, and other materials. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry techniques, mechanical knowledge, Shuttering works and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The position offers an excellent opportunity for those with experience in various trades to utilise their skills in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Cutting, shaping, and assembling materials using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment.
- Installing fixtures such as doors, windows, cabinetry, and roofing components with precision.
- Performing welding tasks where necessary to join metal components securely.
- Conducting repairs and maintenance on existing structures or fixtures.
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Heavy lifting of materials and equipment to facilitate construction tasks.
- Assisting with masonry work or other related trades as required on-site.
- Maintaining a clean and organised workspace to promote safety and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Joiner or in a similar carpentry or construction role.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to building techniques and materials.
- Experience with roofing, masonry, or commercial driving is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely and effectively.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or construction trades are desirable.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting materials or equipment between sites.
