Airedale NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an exceptional leader to join us as Deputy Director of Transformation at a pivotal time for our organisation.
Reporting to the Director of Strategy, Planning & Partnerships, you will lead the development and delivery of our Trust-wide continuous improvement approach and Management Operating System. You will play a central role in embedding “how we do things here” — ensuring improvement, delivery and learning are part of everyday practice.
Key responsibilities include establishing a high-performing Programme Management Office (PMO), driving delivery of strategic priorities, and strengthening organisational clarity, governance and operational grip. You will lead large-scale transformation programmes and build the capability, culture and leadership behaviours needed to deliver high-quality, sustainable services.
We are looking for a senior leader with significant experience of delivering complex transformation programmes, strong expertise in improvement methodologies, and the ability to translate strategy into measurable outcomes. You will bring excellent influencing skills, a collaborative approach and a commitment to compassionate, inclusive leadership.

The Transformation function exists to support Airedale NHS Foundation Trust to deliver outstanding, sustainable and continuously improving services for patients, communities and colleagues. The function provides strategic leadership, improvement expertise, organisational effectiveness and programme support to enable the Trust to strengthen quality, operational performance, workforce engagement, governance effectiveness and long-term organisational sustainability.
The service will lead the development of “Thriving Together” — Airedale’s integrated organisational improvement approach and Trust Management Operating System — creating clearer alignment between strategy, leadership, governance, operational delivery and continuous improvement. Working collaboratively across clinical, operational and corporate services, the function will help develop the organisational capability, leadership behaviours and improvement culture required to support high-quality care, effective decision-making, innovation, organisational learning and readiness for the future opportunities created through the New Hospital Programme and wider system transformation.
