About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and results-driven Groups, Meetings & Events (GM&E) Sales Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth through the proactive sales and management of group accommodation, meetings, conferences, events, and social functions.
The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences, building strong client relationships, and maximising commercial opportunities across all market segments.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Proactively generate new business opportunities for groups, meetings, conferences, and events.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, agents, event organisers, and local businesses.
- Conduct sales calls, site inspections, networking events, and client meetings.
- Identify and target new market segments to drive incremental revenue.
- Manage the sales pipeline and ensure all enquiries are followed up promptly.
Revenue Management
- Maximise meeting room, event space, and group accommodation revenue.
- Work closely with the Revenue Manager and General Manager to optimise pricing strategies.
- Negotiate contracts and rates while ensuring profitability.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and local demand generators.
Event Management
- Manage the full event lifecycle from enquiry to post-event follow-up.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, function sheets, and event documentation.
- Liaise with operational departments to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Conduct client meetings and event briefings to ensure all requirements are met.
Relationship Management
- Build long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Maintain accurate records within the hotel's CRM system.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Act as the main point of contact for GM&E clients.
Reporting & Administration
- Produce weekly and monthly sales activity reports.
- Track performance against revenue and conversion targets.
- Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and brand standards.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in hotel sales, conference and events sales, or hospitality sales.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Commercially focused with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel sales systems.
