We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Qualified Dispensing Optician, with G.O.C. registration, to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of optical principles and be proficient in providing exceptional customer service. As a Dispensing Optician, you will play a crucial role in helping patients select the right eyewear and ensuring that their prescriptions are accurately fulfilled. Your expertise in laboratory processes and anatomy knowledge will be essential in delivering high-quality optical care.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting suitable eyewear based on their prescription and personal style preferences.
- Conduct measurements for lenses, ensuring accuracy for optimal fit and comfort.
- Dispense glasses and contact lenses, providing instructions on proper usage and care.
- Maintain an organised inventory of eyewear products and supplies, including frames and lenses.
- Perform basic repairs and adjustments on eyewear to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with optometrists to interpret prescriptions and provide necessary information regarding patient care.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in eyewear fashion and advancements in optical technology.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the practice.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Dispensing Optician or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory processes related to lens fabrication is advantageous.
- Familiarity with anatomy related to the eye and vision is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills are essential for managing inventory and patient records.
- A valid qualification or certification as a Dispensing Opticians with G.O.C registration is mandatory.

Pay: £27,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
