The Role
As a Print Operative, you will play a vital role in producing high-quality packaging products for a wide range of customers. You will be responsible for operating printing equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate manual and semi-automatic printing machinery, including 4-colour stack presses and 8-colour CI press
- Monitor machine performance to achieve production targets and quality standards
- Identify, troubleshoot and resolve printing issues
- Optimise changeovers while maintaining safety and quality standards
- Mount printing plates and perform colour matching as required
- Follow Lean Manufacturing principles, including SMED and 5S
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Conduct shift handovers to ensure smooth production transitions, including briefing the next shift and checking machinery
- Promote a positive safety culture and adhere to company procedures at all times
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience within a print manufacturing environment
- Background in flexographic, lithographic or gravure printing
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer literacy
- Excellent attendance and timekeeping
Desirable
- NVQ qualification in Print or a related discipline
Working Hours
- Average 38.5 hours per week
- Continental shift pattern covering day and night shifts on a 3 week rotating schedule
- Generous rest days built into the shift cycle
