Overview:
We are currently seeking skilled Self-Employed Plant Operators to partner with us. As a Self-Employed Plant Operator, you will be responsible for operating various heavy machinery on our clients' sites. Your expertise will ensure the success of construction projects by efficiently and safely manoeuvre equipment on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Location: East Midlands, South East and East Anglia
- Safely operate and maintain a wide range of construction plant machinery, including Telehandlers, Tracked Dumpers, Articulated Dump Trucks (ADTs), Wheeled Excavators, 360 Excavators, Loading Shovels, Dozers, Rollers, Tractors, and 3CX Backhoe Loaders.
- Carry out daily pre-start inspections and routine maintenance checks to ensure equipment remains safe, compliant, and fully operational.
- Undertake excavation, earthworks, material handling, grading, and compaction activities in line with project specifications and site requirements.
- Work closely with Site Managers, Supervisors, and other operatives to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to programme.
- Identify and report any machinery defects, faults, or performance issues promptly, assisting with preventative maintenance where required.
- Adhere to all company policies, site rules, and health & safety procedures, maintaining the highest standards of safe working practices.
- Complete relevant documentation accurately, including equipment inspections, maintenance records, fuel usage, and daily activity reports.

Requirements
- Previous experience operating a variety of construction plant machinery within a civil engineering, earthworks, demolition, or construction environment.
- Ideally hold a current Sizewell induction, although this is not essential.
- Valid CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent plant operator qualifications relevant to the machinery operated.
- Strong understanding of health & safety regulations and site operating procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret site drawings, plans, and instructions.
- Excellent awareness of site hazards, with strong attention to detail and safe working practices.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to work, including the ability to operate in varying site conditions and weather environments.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
