Help us launch something new
Age Cymru West Glamorgan is launching The Wellbeing Studio: a new manicure and pedicure-style beauty and wellbeing service for older people.
We want to create a warm, welcoming, stylish and enjoyable experience that helps people feel good, confident and valued.
This is an exciting opportunity to help build a new service from the ground up. The successful candidate will play an important part in shaping the service, creating a brilliant client experience, encouraging repeat bookings and helping us prove that The Wellbeing Studio can become a permanent and sustainable part of our charity.
About the role
The role will initially focus on delivering manicure and pedicure-style appointments. This may include nail tidying, filing, moisturising and simple nail colour, such as block colour polish, where appropriate.
This is a beauty and wellbeing role, not podiatry, chiropody or medical foot care. Anyone who needs clinical or more complex foot care will be redirected to the appropriate service.
You will help create a calm, friendly and professional appointment experience from start to finish. That means welcoming clients warmly, listening to what they want, keeping the space clean and well-presented, and helping each person leave feeling pleased they came.
The role is based at our Swansea office and does not include home working. It may also involve some community-based activity as the service develops.
Applicants must be aged 18 or over because the role will involve lone working with clients. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work is also required.
About you
For this role, the right person matters most.
You may already have experience in nails, beauty, spa or wellbeing. You may also come from another people-facing background such as hospitality, health, social care, community work, activities, customer service or similar.
We are looking for someone who is:
- warm, friendly and confident with people;
- practical, reliable and calm;
- proud of delivering a good experience;
- comfortable spending time with older people;
- willing to learn and follow agreed procedures;
- motivated to help build a new service;
- able to understand that the service must deliver both a brilliant client experience and sustainable income for the charity.
Qualifications and training
A qualification in nail technology, nail services, beauty therapy, manicure or pedicure would be helpful, but it is not essential.
We are open to training the right person if they have strong relevant experience, practical potential and the right personal qualities.
No client appointments will be delivered independently until all required training, induction, infection control training and competency checks have been completed.
What we offer
You would be joining a small, friendly and committed team of staff and volunteers who care deeply about our work and about each other.
We offer:
- Real Living Wage — £13.45 per hour.
- Generous annual leave — up to 31 days plus bank holidays, starting at 26 days and increasing with each year of service, up to five years. This will be pro rata for part-time staff.
- Enhanced pension scheme — minimum 5% employer contribution, with matched contributions up to 8%.
- Paid carers’ leave — up to 5 days per year to support employees with caring responsibilities, pro rata for part-time staff.
- 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme — free access to counselling, financial advice, legal advice and wellbeing support.
- Practical flexibility — including agreed time off in lieu where needed to help balance work and personal commitments.
- Supportive induction and paid training opportunities — helping you settle into the role, build confidence and continue developing your skills.
- Unlimited tea and coffee — and usually a biscuit or two if the team has not got there first.
- The chance to help shape a brand-new service for older people in our communities.
Recruitment process
We know that not everyone is at their best in a traditional application or formal interview process. For this role, we are interested in your people skills, values, practical approach, motivation and potential to help us build a brilliant service.
The process will include:
Stage 1: Indeed application
Please apply by submitting your CV and answering a small number of short application questions.
Stage 2: Telephone conversation
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a relaxed telephone conversation.
Stage 3: Final interview and practical task

Final interviews and practical tasks will take place on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 July 2026.
