We’re working with a fantastic Alternative Provision (AP) setting near Oakham, that is seeking a PSHE Teacher! This is a full-time (4 days a week), 8:30-16:30 running until the end of the academic year, with the potential to extend.
This is a rewarding teaching role for someone with a passion for supporting vulnerable learners in a specialist environment.
You will:
- Plan and deliver engaging and age-appropriate PSHE/RSHE lessons
- Support students with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and challenging behaviours
- Work as part of a nurturing and experienced team within a well-established AP
- Adapt your teaching to meet diverse learning and emotional needs
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to foster emotional regulation and personal development
Requirements:
- QTS or PGCE – desirable
- Experience working with SEMH and SEN students
- Confidence managing behaviour in a trauma-informed, compassionate way
- A strong understanding of inclusive teaching and safeguarding practices
- DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one)
Ideal for candidates with:
- Previous experience teaching in AP, PRU, or SEN settings
- A background in pastoral care, behaviour support, or wellbeing-focused education
- A creative and resilient approach to teaching and learning
