A commercial grounds maintenance company are looking to recruit team leaders and operatives to work on a full time permanent basis. Based at their depot in Birmingham, applicants will be required to service commercial grounds maintenance contracts with a range of different tasks.
Applicants will need to show willingness and be capable of working on their own initiative under the supervision of a Team Leader. A grounds maintenance operative will carry out scheduled works within a team on a variety sites in and around the Birmingham area, to required quality standards.
Duties include:
- Supervising a team
- Vehicle checks
- Grass cutting and Lawn maintenance
- Landscape Maintenance
- Hedge, Shrub and Small Tree Pruning
- Planting and Maintenance of Flowers, Trees, Shrubs and Beds
- Litter picking
- Application of herbicides, fungicides or insecticides
- Winter services – gritting and snow clearance
A full clean driving licence, previous supervisory and miantennace experience essential.
- PA1 and PA6 NPTC spraying licence
- Driving licence
Your usual hours of work during the season (March to October) will be Monday to Friday 6.30am till 4.00pm (8.5 hours per day start and finish time may be adjusted), and Monday to Friday 8.00am till 4.00pm (7 hours) out of season.
The opportunity to develop and progress within the company will be available once a probationary period is completed.
