We are seeking experienced Regional Lighting Design Engineer for South West England area with strong technical expertise and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer engagement. You will join the newly established CEF Lighting Division, created to drive growth within our lighting category.
The role involves working across a diverse range of projects, including commercial, industrial, residential, and retail environments, supporting clients in the development of innovative, sustainable, and energy-efficient lighting solutions. With the backing of a substantial internal lighting support team, the position allows you to focus primarily on external customer consultations, site surveys, and project development.
What You’ll Do
- Provide expert lighting design support, technical guidance, and product advice to Regional and National Sales teams across luminaires, lamps, control gear, and lighting control systems.
- Support our customer needs by designing bespoke lighting solutions using Relux/Dialux.
- Work collaboratively with consultants, contractors, and end clients to deliver tailored, high-quality lighting designs
- Collaborate with the Procurement team to support, develop, and grow the lighting category in line with the centrally defined strategy and key supplier partnerships.
- Build strong technical expertise in key supplier product portfolios through regular training sessions and supplier visits.
- Provide technical expertise and energy-efficient recommendations for projects of all sizes.
- Stay current with lighting legislation, standards, industry trends, and emerging technologies, with a strong focus on innovation.
- Collaborate with internal teams and CEF branches to support and maximise sales opportunities.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience and in-depth knowledge of Lighting Design.
- Strong knowledge of lighting products, standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency with lighting design software (Relux, Dialux or equivalent) OR willingness and ability to be trained.
- LIA qualifications OR willingness to complete these in the role
- Excellent communication skills with a strong customer- and sales-focused approach.
- A creative eye for design combined with strong technical understanding.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
