SENDCo (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Coordinator)
Location: Redbridge, Ilford
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: TLR 2C or Leadership Scale (dependent on experience)
An inclusive and forward-thinking all-through school in Redbridge (Ilford) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and experienced SENDCo to join the team from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a committed professional to lead and further develop SEND provision across all phases of the school, ensuring that every pupil receives the support they need to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the school
- Develop and implement the SEND strategy in line with statutory requirements and best practice
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, parents, and external agencies
- Monitor and track pupil progress, ensuring effective interventions are in place
- Provide guidance and training to staff to support high-quality inclusive teaching
- Oversee EHCP processes and maintain accurate SEND records
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to obtain)
- Proven experience supporting pupils with SEND
- Strong understanding of SEND legislation and best practice
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- A commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for all learners
